En 2019 obtuve una beca en la Academia de España en Roma para investigar cómo la estructura compositiva afecta la narrativa, tomando como objeto de análisis los retablos italianos y poniéndolos en relación con el cómic.
Estirando hasta el límite el concepto de retícula, la narrativa del proyecto se construye también en torno al módulo de repetición de la experiencia en la Academia: el intento y el fracaso. Con esta premisa encuentro personajes paradigmáticos que funcionan como protagonistas en este relato de autoficción especular: Sísifo, que empuja cada día montaña arriba una piedra que vuelve a caer irremediablemente una vez está en la cima, Penélope, que hace y deshace su labor de manera cíclica, y también El Coyote, el eterno fracasado condenado a perseguir sin éxito al correcaminos. Estos personajes también me sirven para reflexionar sobre la propia concepción del trabajo, el uso productivo del tiempo o el no hacer como posicionamiento político consciente.

Sometimes things are not as expected (The attempt, the fail and the obligation to repeat)
In 2019 I obtained a grant from the Academia de España en Roma with a project that was only woven together, a starting point: Investigate the extent to which the compositional structure affects the narrative, taking the Italian altarpieces as an object of analysis and put them in relation to the comic.
The main character is the repetition itself. Try and fail and the duty of doing things once and another. The protagonists of this story embody the obligation to repeat: Sísifo who pushes the stone up the mountain every day, Penélope who waits for ages, undoing at night what she weaves by day, and Coyote, the one who tries and ends always trapped in his own trap.
